I was looking for a dinner recipe to cook for Valentine’s day. That was the one for me. I would highly recommend for a date night 🙂 Quick to cook, comfort food, perfect with red wine and healthy with the addition of the veggies. Choose good quality lean sausages and fresh gnocchi for the best result.

  • 4
    lean beef sausages
  • 1
    red wine pasta sauce
  • 1
    packet of fresh gnocchi
  • 1
    broccoli head
  • 200
    green beans
  • 100 Grams
  • Pinches
    fennel seeds and fresh rosemary
  • Pinches
    almond flakes
  • 2
    garlic gloves, finely chopped
  • olive oil
  • 1/2 Cup
    red wine

  1. Squeeze the sausage meat out of the skins, break the meat apart. Heat olive oil in a frying pan, add fennel seeds and rosemary. Add sausage meat. Cook until brown. Add broccoli florets, red wine and sauce. Stir to combine. Reduce heat and cook for about 5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced.

  2. Cook gnocchi in a boiling water for 2 minutes. When the gnocchi float up to the surface, they are ready. Drain and add to the pan, once the sauce has simmered down.

  3. To make the salad - cut off the bean stalks. Heat olive oil in the frying pan. Add green beans, kale, garlic, almond flakes and cook for 2 minutes. Serve with the sausage gnocchi.
